Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself....

It's been a long time since I've posted anything of interest.  But then again, it may only be interesting to me.  Oh and maybe to that one sympathetic blog stalker I acquired along the way.  The one who attempted a not so innocent web search for "Magic City Girl", found me, and decided to never leave.  So I'm writing for the two of us now.

Staying true to the game though, the rest of this blog probably won't be all that exciting either (sorry Magic City Fans).  I'm pretty much just me.  Although I've struggled with an alter ego at times, I'm more comfortable going back to being simply MzG or the letter E.  You decide.

Although, I'm a teacher by profession, my thoughts are a bit random.  Even my honey gets frustrated when I blurt out what I'm thinking while he's talking.  Maybe because it rarely has anything to do with what he's saying.  Plus I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm not paying attention. I really am, it's just that for whatever reason if a thought pops in my head, releasing it immediately into the atmosphere gives me some type of gratification.  I've just blessed the world with a new fortuitous thought.  Doesn't "fortuitous" make it seem worthy to be passed on?  Does anyone else do that? Anywho changing lanes again.  I figured this reintroduction should come with some type of Q & A.  But why put answers out to questions that haven't been asked? So I'll leave it up to you.  Ask me a question and I'll attempt to tell you the answer.  But just in case, you want to skip all that and get straight to it, feel free to read 25 Things About Me.  Trust me, not much has changed.  While you do that, I reserve my right to plead the fifth.

Until next time, much love and laughter....journey light.

The Problem With Alter Egos

Ever go to reach for that perfect necklace that you specifically purchased to match up with your little black dress, only to discover that the other necklaces beside it obviously got a little jealous and wrapped themselves around it in an attempt to choke the life out of it? Two days ago, I spent 30 minutes untangling a necklace that I just found in knots again today. What the Hellmans?! Oh, what does that have to do with the title? Well just like my jewelry, I've been trying to bring some type of organization to the many identities and corresponding online accounts I have created in the past few years in order to make them productive again. No, nothing fraudulent. I don't do well with handcuffs, but that's another story for me to share later. *wink*

I have 6 email accounts, 2 Facebooks, 2 Twitters, 3 Bloggers, 1 Wordpress, 1 Tumblr and a few more "expressive" sites that are either locked by myself or the site host changed all the rules of the game mid-journey. Therefore I have a few monikers and am trying to find a way to connect the journeys without confusing those interested. I've come to the conclusion that the most popular happens to be 'DrkTearz'. I received confirmation of this when I went to my school district's summer school teacher orientation last week and a young lady that I know in the spoken word community called me by the name. I found myself looking around to see if anyone else heard her. Whew! No one! Yay for another day in keeping those two world's separate!

Next, there's 'MzG', which actually was used by a few of my former students and continues to be in circulation amongst my close friends. This is surely due to my love/hate relationship with being an educator. But just for clarification, it's actually not the educator part that I struggle with. One of my favorite places is within the four walls of my classroom with my students smiling at the "Ah ha moments" without someone reminding me that the bulletin board outside my classroom needs to be changed by the 5th of each month. But I digress.

Then, there's my online dating adventures....although I walked away from some things I could have did without, I did create a couple of cool names. One was an all-around fake that I will not disclose, but it served its purpose. The other was more personal, as I had advanced a few steps with self discovery and learned a little more about gratitude. Therefore, my Tumblr was blessed with the name 'All Smilez No Tearz'.

(Oh and I would tell you about GeGe but I'm trying to keep this post family friendly)

But alas, I had to make a decision. Since DrkTearz is so deeply connected to the poetry scene and I'm saving All Smilez No Tearz for another project, MzG seems to be the perfect middle ground. She is the girl next door, diverse individual that still knows how to keep things simple :-)

Why I Love/Hate When It Snows In Atlanta

Ok, so I just returned home from Publix, a grocery store here in Georgia, and I feel as though I survived an adventure. It is a rarity that we get snow here and although I've been here for years, I still get a kick out of the natives run on the grocers for milk, eggs, and bread. I couldn't even get a carton of Almond Breeze because they were completely out! So here's my list of reasons why I love/hate when it snows here.

I love it when it snows in the A because.....

1. If it snows enough, schools are closed

2. If schools don't close, but it snows enough for the parents, they will not send their children to school anyway

3. After the hoopla, I can find parking anywhere and everywhere easily

4. I get to stay in bed all day, watch old movies and catch up on blogs

5. The snow creations are hilarious because they are part snow, leaves, twigs, and dirt

But I also hate it because.......

1. Although I know how to drive in it, I dare not because the natives drive crazy on a sunny day, add some precipation and see what happens

2. If you really need milk, eggs, or bread - Good luck because there was a run on those items when the weather reporters first mentioned a chance of snow

3. The grocery store parking lot makes me feel like Frogger when I get out of my car.

4. If APS doesn't close, please believe the children you need a break from will be in attendance

5. My friend who could be here watching old movies with me can't get a flight back home

Until next time.....journey light.......luv, peace, and an abundance of blessings,

Just My Thoughts: My Blogs & Me

So after birthing two new profiles on two different websites, it is my humble opinion that BLOGGER ROCKS while wordpress sucks! Well it didn't really suck until after I went back on today to run through a few more comparisons and the whole dashboard was different. It was rather grown up and wordy and when it comes to blogging, I need it fun, simple with color and gadgets. Blogger has loads of gadgets. So Blogger edged out the other site and is my new lovechild. I'll have to give the other one back. What if you could do that with your kids? Hmm, you know we had a GA mother who tried when she dropped her son off in Nebraska, but you see how far she got with that idea don't ya. ANYWHO, so this new addition to Drktearz's family means I'll be letting go of Yahoo 360, Xanga and Myspace. Well, not really. I'll just won't be spending as much time with them. My other baby, Facebook, I neglected at first, but have found it to work for me now. So Facebook rocks too. But of course this is just my opinion. Journey light!

Love, peace, and blessings,

Hello Lovely People!

Welcome to my new spot. Well the word CHANGE and 2008 are not just synonymous with Obama, I’ve had quite a bit of my fair share of ups and downs this year. So I decided to ride this pony right on over to Blogger.com. This being my very first post, I can’t really share much, as I’m still fixing up the joint. However, I will say if I can find an easy way to do it, I will bring over some of the old to mix with the new. Anywho, gotta run! Stay light!

Love, peace, and blessings…..MUAH!
